we just recently bought clémence a walker. it only took her a few times in it to figure out how the toys work. she is so smart and so doggone cute! i haven't put the wheels on it yet because she isn't quite ready for them, but at least she can strengthen her legs while she plays!

simple, yet fun.
our bedroom has taken a back seat so to speak as far as decorating goes and is in need of some color and fun. thought using this wall space for pictures was a good way to put up memories of our little life without seeming too invasive (like if it were in the living room instead) and gives us a space where that amount of pictures makes sense. the twine and clothespins are simple but cute. this isn't my original idea, but i like it and love waking up to a view of our blessed life.

summer food.
lemon garlic spaghetti paired with white wine aptly named 'Relax' (which you can get at target and is the best white wine i have had). i tried this recipe and it is now our favorite pasta dish.
its light and delicious and i can't wait to make it again. hope you feel the same!
ingredients:
4oz dried spaghetti (i used whole wheat)
1/4 cup grated parmesan
2 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 lemon
2 tbsp pine nuts
5-6 basil leaves, chiffonaded
to make:
First, start your garlic oil. Pour in olive oil and chopped up garlic into a small frying pan and let it cook over low, until the garlic starts to brown on edges. Immediately remove from heat and reserve. While that’s starting up, boil up some spaghetti.
Chiffonade some basil leaves. Then take cheese, pine nuts and dump it into a large bowl, with the garlic oil, garlic chunks and all. Squeeze in lemon juice. Throw in the spaghetti and toss until well combined. Platecrack some black pepper on it, and enjoy. (recipe courtesy of www.inomthings.com)

a special place.
continuing my DIY craze i decided to make a tent for clémence's room. i found a great tutorial from a creative blog and some fun fabric when we were in san diego. also, i had an amazing friend to do it with which made the process so much easier and fun. i am so happy with the outcome and love that she has, well, her own special place to read or dream or sleep or whatever she wants. and as cheesy as it sounds, i can't wait for the memories to be made with the three of us.

checkin it off the list.
i've been super inspired lately. i blame it on my creative friends and let's face it my new obsession with pinterest. things are just so much better when you can make them or do them yourself. so much more meaning and although more time-consuming, most of the time cheaper too. its a win-win. yesterday i took on a project and thanks to babes being so good, i was able to finish it.
3 years ago jeremiah and i backpacked europe for 5 weeks. it was an incredible experience to say the least. one of the places we stayed was bled, slovenia. it's this quaint little town surrounding this beautiful lake. there is a tiny island in the middle with a church on it and a family of swans swimming around it. picturesque to say the least. the lake isn't very big and there is a trail so you can walk around the entire thing in about 2 hours. this is precisely what we did. i remember it so clearly. it was just a lovely afternoon.
i picked a few flowers when we were on that walk and pressed them in a book i was reading. i haven't really done anything with them til now. here's what i did.
1. found some linen napkins at a thriftstore.

the sacred things.
weekends. they are usually spent not doing much of anything. we are just so happy to have jeremiah all to ourselves for 2 days. since clémence goes to bed so early he usually only gets a few good hours with her in the morning and when he gets home in the evening. so when he is home a lot of our time is filled with playing and tickling and giggling.
